* The Academy will possibly ad a late morning childrens class (around 11am to 12pm) 3 to 5 days per week. Contact us if you are interested in a class at this time. If we get enough interest we will open the class.

*The Academy is also interested in opening a late afternoon "Family" class on Saturdays. This class will be where parents and children who cannot train during the week but would like a family activity may come and train together. This would be separate from other programs and a separate price for a once per week, 2 hour class. If you are interested in this class, please contact us. If we get enough interest, we will open this class.

Class Descriptions:

Children's Blended Martial Arts- This class is for children ages 5 (or younger with instructor approval upon interview with parents and child) to age 15. Much like the adult Blended Martial Arts class, children are taught methods from several different systems using Si Gung Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do training methodology. Children will get great exercise and learn self-discipline, respect, confidence, and a peaceful warrior spirit that will compliment their every day lives. As an added bonus, children will be able to work on their skills in the English language since the instructor teaches the class in English. This course is offered Monday through Friday evenings.

Kickboxing- This class blends kickboxing methods from Jun Fan Kickboxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Savate, and Panantukan (Filipino Boxing). Conditioning is emphasized in this class as well as technique. Part of the class consists of timed rounds of working on focus pads, thai pads, and heavy bags. Calisthenics, rope jumping, and other strength conditioning are also included. When a student has built some skill and has appropriate equipment, sparring is allowed. This course is taught Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Self-Defense Applications- This class emphasizes using martial art technique in a realistic manner. Students are taught how to directly apply techniques from various arts to realistic self-defense situations, use improvised weapons, and environmental awareness. This course is taught Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Jun Fan Gung Fu/Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do- In this class students learn the curriculum taught at the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute from 1967-1973.  This curriculum includes the methods and techniques that Bruce Lee had personally approved for the group lessons at his school. Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do includes techniques from all ranges of combat (kicking, punching, trapping, and grappling). Kicking methods come primarily from Northern Gung Fu methods and French Savate. Western Boxing heavily influences the punching range. Wing Chun (Jun Fan) Gung Fu make up the trapping range. The grappling range is a blend of Chinese Chin-Na and Japanese Judo and Ju Jitsu techniques. This course is taught Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Jeet Kune Do Concepts/Combined Martial Arts- This class teaches students how to fight in all ranges of combat: kicking, punching, infighting (also known as trapping), and grappling. Students also learn how to be proficient with weapons and how to defend against an armed attacker. This class teaches a blend of the martial arts described on the about us page. Interactive drills, coordination, and conditioning is emphasized. Much time is also spent on strategy, proper form for technique, and body awareness. Where Jun Fan JKD is Si Gung Lee's personal expression of JKD, we use the essence of Bruce Lee's JKD training philosophy to continue the research and development into our own personal JKD. This course is taught Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as Saturday morning.

Filipino Martial Arts (Kali-Eskrima-Arnis)/Majapahit Martial Arts (Silat)- This class covers the vast and amazing arts of the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Thai weaponry art of Krabi Krabong. Students are taught to be skilled in using weapons such as the stick, staff, knife, and long blade.  From there students move to the empty hand systems of panantukan (Filipino Boxing) and the grappling, throwing, and locking methods of Silat and Dumog.  These martial arts offer a complete system of fighting as well as training your reflexes and coordination. They are simply the best systems to know when dealing with an armed attacker. This course is taught Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Sport MMA (sport Mixed Martial Arts)-
Seen in the UFC, K1, M1, and other competitions, MMA is one of the world's fastest growing sports. Fighters from this sport have become household names and you can learn to fight like Fedor Emelianenko, Randy Couture, and Anderson Silva. The emphasis in this class is not to make professional fighters but to allow the average person who has an interest in this sport to experience training in it.  In this class students learn kickboxing technique as well as ground fighting methods. Techniques from this sport are very applicable to self-defense. Conditioning is emphasized along with technique so students will get into great physical condition. This course is taught Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do Integrated Grappling- This is the grappling system researched and developed by the late Sifu Larry Hartsell.  Sifu Hartsell was given the task by Si Gung Bruce Lee to research the grappling methods that would be integrated into the Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do system. After Si Gung Lee's passing, Sifu Hartsell continued his research and development into grappling methods. He studied with such legends as Gene LeBell, Gokor Chivichyan, and Yori Nakamura. His research included grappling methods such as western freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman Wrestling, Catch as CatchCan Wrestling, Hook Wrestling, Judo, Small Circle Ju Jitsu, Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, Sambo, Judo, and Shootwrestling.  In this class students will work flowing from kicking and punching range into trapping to grappling range and finishing an opponent with a lock. JKD methods for fighting in grappling range are practiced. Much like sport MMA, students are taught how to strike while in grappling range but the emphasis is on surviving on the ground in a self defense situation.  This class is offered on Friday evening.

Beginner 's Class- This class is offered to new students during their first 90 days of membership at the academy. It works like a slower paced blended martial arts class. In this class the basic and beginning techniques of all methods are taught at a slower pace meant for the beginning student to get quality repetitions. Beginning students are NOT restricted to this class, but may find that this class is a good compliment to the others being that it is taught at a slower pace. This class is offered Friday evening.
